ND Primary Boys' tournament affected by rain

Published on 29 Nov 2018

The annual Primary Boys tournament got underway in the last week of November unfortunately the tournament was severely affected by rain and after discussion with coaches and managers on the first morning it was decided to  play T20 game instead of the scheduled 40 over a side fixtures. Of the 4 matches in progress on the first day 2 ended in results before the rain set in. Day two brought overcast showery conditions the morning games were completed and the afternoon game got underway before a severe drenching came through after an hours delay game got underway again. Before rain arrived again.

While the weather has been a challenge parents, coaches and players have been determined to get as much cricket in as possible.

The tournament ended just prior to the rain arriving again however we did manage to complete 30 over matches and by week's end of the potential 120 overs to have been played  we managed 90 with the bonus of play a 4th game over the three days.
