McCaw Lewis Northern Maori hosted the Hawkes Bay Development 11 on Sunday at Owen Delany Park in Taupo. Batting first on an excellent pitch in extremely hot conditions the hosts posted a score of 198 in their 50 overs.  The captain, experienced Leighton Parsons (47) was the highest score, what was very pleasing was seeing the emergence of youngster Kuwyn Price making his debut appearance and scoring a valuable 39 not out batting at 8. 

The Hawkes Bay chase began particularly well not losing their first wicket until 80. 17 year old H Young was impressive in scoring 71 and with other supporting roles the Hawkes Bay 11 got there in the 40th over after a short delay to let a thunder storm pass through. All in all a very competitive game with both sides wanting to make this an annual fixture .
