ND-littered NZ Under 19's depart for Australia

The New Zealand Under-19 squad has departed for their tour of Australia and will play their first 50-over match tomorrow in Brisbane.

ND has contributed five players to the squad, the most of any Association; something that is particularly pleasing for ND's Pathways Manager, Peter Zanzottera.

"As an association we are very proud of the five boys who have been selected to represent their country at this level, and excited by the learning opportunities this tour will present them," said Zanzottera.

"Having overseas experiences in which the boys will encounter different playing conditions and styles of cricketer is always invaluable in their long term development."

ND has played it's part in helping the players prepare for the tour, with all of them having access to one-on-one coaching in their region throughout the lead-up period, as well as athletic development programmes.

What will each of the five bring to the NZ side?

Oliver White (Northland/Auckland Grammar) - Ollie comes off a very positive season with the bat last year, in which he made numerous significant contributions to his teams at the top of the order. He is a talented and mature left-handed opener, who possesses quality left-arm finger spin in his skill-set while also being brilliant in the field.

Ben Pomare (Bay of Plenty) - A Tauranga Boys College product, Ben has been selected as a genuine all-rounder with his wicket-keeping and middle-order batting skills coming to the fore. He continues to develop his technical and physical skills and is progressing in a really positive manner.

Tim Pringle (Bay of Plenty/Tauranga Boys College) - Whilst only 16 years old, Tim has already played in a national Under-19 tournament and has played two seasons in the Bay of Plenty Senior Men's side. His promising left-arm finger spin is complemented by a skilful and powerful batting game.

Kristian Clarke (Waikato Valley/Hamilton Boys High School) - Kristian continues to impress through his pace bowling skills and growing batting ability. He has the capability to open the bowling and generates good pace and bounce. Added to this is a fast-growing batting skill set in the middle/lower-order. Another who is an excellent fielder.

Hayden Dickson (Counties Manukau) - A Kings' College Old Boy, Hayden is developing rapidly and brings genuine pace to this group, as well as a powerful batting game in the middle-order.
